Tania 9

Hello Everyone,
Tug of War with gloves.
I found that it was hopeless trying to pull on the rope with gloves. The gloves were too slippery for the rope so I couldn't get a grip. Also the plastic from the gloves and the rope sliding over the gloves caused the gloves to become hot. I think it was the friction that caused this and if it had kept going I think it could have burnt my hands. The friction between the gloves and the rope caused the heat. The faster the rope slips through the gloves the more heat the friction will cause.
Cheers Tania

  1. Have you ever had a carpet burn, Tania? That's from friction. Meteors burning up is caused by friction too. Good one.
